Dr. Gibson earned her Master’s degree (1995) and Doctorate (1999) in Clinical Psychology from the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University. She also attended The University of South Carolina where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 1993. Dr. Gibson has extensive training in family and child therapy and assessment, including experience at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center. Her internship and postdoctoral fellowship were completed at the Virginia Treatment Center for Children/Medical College of Virginia from 1997-1999 with an emphasis on child and family assessment and treatment. Dr. Gibson is licensed as a psychologist in North Carolina. She works exclusively with children and adolescents and their families. She works with children ranging in age from three to young college age for evaluations. Her areas of specialty include psychological assessment and evaluation. She works with many families and/or children dealing with learning difficulties, giftedness, attention disorders, anxiety, depression, adoption, adjustment, family difficulties/conflict, behavioral difficulties, parenting, and pediatric issues, among others. After arriving in Charlotte in 1999, Dr. Gibson was part of a group private practice. Since April of 2001, she has enjoyed having her own practice in South Charlotte where she continues to serve the Charlotte, NC region.
